Meanwhile Space launch a handbook for intermediaries

Meanwhile intermediaries play a critical role in allowing meanwhile projects to happen.  They facilitate strong, collaborative partnerships between the landlords with temporary spaces available for use and the people with the ideas to fill those spaces, by providing legal and administrative support and relationship management expertise.

In 2009, Emily Miller and Eddie Bridgeman of Meanwhile Space CIC took on the role of intermediary for the NOMAD project in Hastings, England. The building that was temporarily transformed into a creative space was a former building society and real estate agent office; probably the most prominent building in the town centre.

As part of the Meanwhile Project, Meanwhile Space CIC facilitated a relationship between the café landlords and a group of users, previously unknown to each other, to produce a ‘Creative and Environmental Hub’.  This handbook is a collection of Meanwhile Space CIC’s experiences with Nomad, and guidance to help other intermediary leaseholders.
