Launched in October 2014, 504 and 505 are renovated railway arches in Loughborough Junction which provide quiet shared workspace and a small meeting space in Arch 505 and an event space in Arch 504.

Arch 505 has space for 5 start-up businesses at a time, with a shared meeting space in the centre. Arch 504 is a flexible event space which has hosted events from poetry theatre to family-friendly community tennis and artist support.

Some of the project impacts include:

  • 10 embryonic businesses used the free workspace in Arch 505
  • 27 organisations used the event space in Arch 504, 15 on a regular basis (weekly/monthly) and 6 one off events.
  • 42 hours of 1-1 business support given to users of the arches
  • 144 hours of training provided collaboratively by local institutions for local people in the initial renovation of the arches, increasing skills + employability.
  • More than 150 local volunteers participated with different projects, giving them valuable skills and experience.
