In collaboration with local and neighbouring art organisations, the Whitgift Centre has become home to the Croydon Art Store, a temporary takeover of a four story unit transformed into an arts and cultural venue.

This innovative space provides affordable studio space for budding artists, gallery space exhibiting work from emerging and established artists, arts workshops, activities, a free bookable creative event space, as well as a research space to develop a Croydon biannual art exhibition in partnership with Kingston School of Art.

The space was taken over with the support of the Croydon Partnership.

The Croydon Arts Store will provide a unique and inspiring visual arts and events programme with a focus on youth engagement and learning. It will also give the council an opportunity to see how arts and cultural activities can be made more accessible in shopping centres and commercial places.
